For the process of recreating, I thought about all of the possible ways of going about the book. I thought about adding into the original, or if I could some how attach new pages onto the book. But I decided to start fresh with a new book. In the Painted Book class, we worked out of an old book I got at the thrift store for a couple of bucks. I did plan to do the same thing for this project, find an old book to work out of . Sarah Gorham had the idea of working out of an old book I used in school, so the book had meaning. But I could not find a book that was the right size that I had in my head. So I created my own.

The reason I decided to do a new book, is because I had a new plot for the book in my head. I knew from the start I wanted to do something that reflected my time here at UNE. And because that is the overarching theme of the Capstone class. Below is a photo of my written out plan for the book.

The next set of pictures is the rough lay out of what I want my new book to look like. I decided to draw out and place everything with pencil before going in with paint and other materials. I start from the day of my high school graduation and move in to the freshman dorms, to day of college graduation and moving out of my college house with my friends. I had everything drawn out in pencil, so I knew what was going where when it came down to the physical production of the book.
