Many students struggle with balancing their schoolwork and their social life when at school and this often leads to mental health concerns and mental health issues in college. At UNE the school provides free counseling to all students and the counseling center provides a variety of services designed to support the psychological and emotional health of the undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled in the school. Students are asked to make appointments with the counseling center but they also respond to emergencies and crisis situations. The staff at the Counseling Center is specially trained in group dynamics, conflict resolution, and interpersonal communication, and provides consultation to students, staff, and faculty groups.
