“My biggest piece of advice for incoming First-Year students would be to get involved right away! Whether that’s through sports, a club/intramural, work-study, etc. somehow get involved as this will allow you to meet new people fast. My second piece of advice would be to keep your door open at all times when in your room. This is an effective way to connect with other First Years on your floor and in your building. If you’re going to the dining hall or an event on campus, knock on an open door and invite whoever is in the room, as once again this is an easy way to meet others and make new friends during the early days and weeks of the semester!”
