As a freshman, it can be intimidating to find someone to talk to about whatever you may need. Resident Advisors are always done in the hall, the counseling service is always a call away, but what if you need to know how a teacher grades? If a specific class is a lot of work or focused on the right topic. The Peer Mentoring program here at UNE matches an upperclassman up with a wanting first year. With this partnership, you are able to meet wherever you may want, and whenever you may want. This allows you to have some safe conversations in places you feel comfortable. You are matched up with an upperclassman that is in the same major as you, so you are able to converse over classes and professors. This is also a good way to get involved and meet new upperclassmen that share common interests with you, and they are able to suggest clubs or groups to get involved with.
