Kathleen Moore had an interview with Mark DeMocker, talking about climate change and house our generation has made no effort, and how we are so forgetful about the issues going on around us. In this interview Moore said “A new experiment may yet emerge. It needs to happen soon” (5). This is referring to a social change that needs to take place to help the earth stay alive. There was also another quote that really stuck with me. It was said by DeMocker, “Part of me wonders why people even need to be convinced that we have a moral obligation to protect the future of our planet” (7). This strikes me, only because I agree. What else is there to prove? There is nothing else to prove. Duhigg seems to agree with this quote, he seems to think there will also be a large movement that needs to happen, and that will happen. McKibben also stated in his transcript, “We are going to have to play offence” (9). He is saying that we have done enough sitting back and letting things happen, we need to take action and we need to do something. That’s where McKibben and Moore are similar. They both want to get up, go out, and change the world.
